Kiran Bedi, PhD
It's Always Possible takes us on an incredible journey from total despair to transformation and hope. It shows us how one woman, Dr Kiran Bedi, changed the lives of thousands of desperate prisoners when she embarked on an awe-inspiring mission to reform one of the largest prison systems in the world–Tihar Central Jail. With compassion, determination, and fearlessness, Dr Bedi, as the first woman Inspector General in India, challenged the corrupt and rigid prison system, transforming the terrible, inhumane conditions of the dungeon-like prison into a virtual ashram.
From the Forward

Reviews:
Tihar Central Jail was India's toughest prison system, a cesspool of drugs and gang wars, of corruption and extortion by both guards and powerful inmates. These days, thousands of inmates gather in clean, tree-shaded courtyards every morning for prayer and meditation. Voluntary groups were allowed into Tihar for the first time in 35 years to provide counseling, meditation classes, vocational training, legal aid, even entertainment.

This is no ordinary prison boss. In the seven months as Inspector General of Dehli prisons, she has made a hellish institution humane.
