Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD, and Kamla Dubey, PhD
Sanskrit is admired for the precision and subtlety of its expression, and the perfection of its grammar. But it is as a conveyance for the spiritual teachings that this language is most treasured. For thousands of years Sanskrit has been the medium of expression for a society that values the spiritual life above all else. Sanskrit is the repository of a timeless wisdom that continues to renew and uplift the human spirit wherever and whenever it is sincerely honored and studied.
This course uses spiritual concepts and texts to illustrate lessons in language, and focuses on those aspects of grammar necessary to gain access to the sacred literature of Sanskrit. The course includes:
- The alphabet, written and spoken
- Basic grammar, verb conjugations, noun declensions
- Lessons on 6 CDs
- Sentence structure, including translating compound words
- Translation exercises taken from the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutra, and other spiritual texts
- Answer keys for all exercises
- Bonus verses and famous hymns translated and recorded for recitation practice Glossary
It is highly recommended to have a mentor before starting this home study course.
