Swami Rama
Most people begin their practice of yoga with asana. But as practice progresses, many become curious about the deeper dimensions of this time-honored spiritual path. Books that touch on advanced spiritual practices and experiences are fascinating, but they often leave readers feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the details of the practices. This volume avoids such pitfalls.
Path of Fire and Light presents an array of refined techniques of pranayama and meditation that are rarely described accurately. In this book, Swami Rama provides an in-depth study of swarodaya, the science of breath, with step-by-step instruction on advanced pranayama exercises. He shares remarkable and practical information on the systematic techniques of an ancient and profound tradition of spiritual growth in a way that is easily understandable by the Western reader.
The ancient yogic teachers and sages of the Himalayas developed the powerful and subtle methods of breath described in this book; methods that intensify sensitivity to the body and mind, and help one achieve the ultimate goal of self-realization. As a practical guide to the systematic science of swarodaya, this book is essential reading for all serious advanced students.
